Message from the Principal’s Desk
MR. LEO EDISION.D Msc.N
The trained nurse has become one of the greatest blessings of humanity, taking its place alongside the physician. Nursing has always been one of the most honourable and respected professions of all time.
Nurses of the modern age provide autonomous and collaborative care for people of all ages and backgrounds. We focus on promoting health, preventing illness and timely intervention, as well as caring for the sick, the disabled and those in their final moments. SLES College of Nursing, Chintamani the key roles of nursing are seen as establishing a safe and secure environment, contributing to health policy, effective management of patients and healthcare systems, as well as participation in education and research. To prepare our students to meet global nursing care standards we continuously work to identify and strengthen the factors that contribute to both efficiency and excellence. Our ultimate aim is to attain and maintain high standards of nursing practice at every level and in every social setting.
One of the greatest challenges to the profession is overcoming carelessness, which is central to nursing success. We must eliminate common errors such as medication errors, patient falls, bed sores, infections, malnutrition, dehydration and overhydration. Developing qualities such as dedication, compassion, loyalty, professional integrity and moral values can address these failures.
We also place special value on communication, encouraging our students to gain confidence conversing in English, the international medium for communication. A working knowledge of English allows our students to move beyond their immediate environment and interact effectively on a wider stage.
SLES College of Nursing has made careful and consistent efforts to integrate these principles into our framework of professional nursing education and training. We continue to improve and update our curriculum through regular appraisals in line with modern healthcare trends and global requirements, ensuring our students are always prepared to excel.
